Blue vervain (Verbena hastata), is a perennial plant found in the US and parts of Canada. It grows upright up to 5 feet tall, with square hairy stems and green to reddish leaves. The leaves are simple, opposite, and have serrated edges, coming in various shapes. Its flowers, violet or purple, grow in spikes at the top of the plant, with each spike containing many small flowers that open gradually.
