White Birch (Betula papyrifera) is a medium-sized deciduous tree with easily distinguishable chalky white bark that peels in strips like paper. White birch is best adapted to cooler climates with well-drained, slightly acidic soils such as sandy loams. Growing 50′ – 70′ tall, the birch is fast growing and is oftentimes grown in groups or multiples. Fairly easy to transplant and establish at new site.
