Malus pumila produces a prized commodity. Favored by many due to its sweetness, firmness, and tartness. This tree is naturally compact in size and can thrive in small spaces. A very cold-hardy species, the Honeycrisp apple tree thrives when placed in well-drained, fertile soil. It is not recommended to plant in rocky or heavy clay soils. Honeycrisp’s are self sterile and will require a pollination partner nearby.
